The Spread Eagle Sailing Club Programme of Events has now been launched and can be booked online.
We are so pleased to announce a full year of events once again, offering a wide variety of activities to enable Members to improve their skills, learn new techniques of boat handling and seamanship or just go sailing.
The new events introduced last year – C & B Ticket Skippers Preparation, and Novice & Competent Crew Skills Building, along with Midweek Just Go Sailing proved to be very popular so these are back on the agenda, along with a new event for this year – Sailing Around the Island. The popular Berthing Safely features again, and the always popular Jane’s Cruise and Skippers Masterclass dates are set, so do book these early to avoid disappointment, though with all of our events, if we have a waiting list we will do our best to organise a similar excursion for members.
This year is also special, with two summer cruises on offer. The first is a two boat adventure – a 9 day Summer Cruise for those who would like to venture further afield to the Normandy / Brittany Coast in August. We will be chartering a similar boat to Eagle so we can have even more fun sailing together and enjoy eating mussels and drinking wine in France. Please register your interest in this event by early March and your place will be confirmed in April. The second cruise is a 7 day likely to be going south again to the Channel Islands.
Our non formal constructive activities are run by experienced club skippers to ensure that everyone gets the benefit of their expertise and knowledge, at a cost of £180 per person for weekend events, £230 for the 3 day events and £370 for the seven day cruise including the cost of fuel, with just food, and moorings beyond Universal Marina as an addition.
